2019 Summer Wildfire Prevention

Wildfires are a type of natural disaster that can start and get out of control in the blink of an eye. They require very little to get out of hand or start to begin with, that's why doing a few simple things to help prevent them is beneficial to you and your home!
Firstly, going through your yard and looking for dead trees, leaves, or grass. All of these things are perfect fire starters, fuel for the fire, or branches that a fire could use to spread further! Once you have made note of any of these things in your area its on to the next step!
Secondly, take all of the dead/dry material that you have found in your yard and dig it up, pick it up, or clean it up. Get it out of there! You can cut down the dead grass or even try watering it often to liven it up. Picking up and getting rid of the dead trees or branches is the best way of eliminating that fire hazard. Raking up and bagging any dead leaves will help with that issue.
Now all your nearby fire hazards should be cleared out, but that isn't all. You should always be vigilant of things like this, especially when doing things that involve fire like grilling, having a bonfire, camping, and even lighting off fireworks. These things can be fun but that doesn't mean that you should skirt your responsibilities to do them, you can always spend a couple minutes to ensure the area you intend to use is safe!
