Fire Safety when Cooking

Safety when cooking should always be something that is on your mind, being aware of potentially flammable objects and being knowledgeable on how to deal with them when cooking can help keep a fire from starting. Most fires that start while someone is cooking start due to negligence, these fires spread fast and those that aren't prepared are left in serious danger.
The USFA and FEMA estimate that just over 50% of all house fires in 2016 were caused by cooking accidents, that is a lot of fires caused by something that is easily avoidable. On average there are over 400,000 house fires per year in the United States, and to have over 50% be caused by someone easily avoidable is concerning. Negligence while cooking is a serious problem that needs to be dealt with by properly educating people.
Being a complete novice or a master chef doesn't matter when it comes to cooking safely, leaving a active stove or other kitchen appliance unattended can create a fire that spirals out of control in just seconds if not caught immediately. If you take proper precautionary measures when cooking you will be left with a both fun and safe hobby that millions enjoy doing.
