Summer 2021 Bonfire Safety
5/8/2021 (Permalink)
As the weather gets nicer and the temperatures grow higher you are likely more inclined to start spending more time outdoors. Having friends and family over to catch up on how each other's previous year has gone while sitting around a bonfire cooking hotdogs or making s'mores. What you may not realize is that you could be putting yourself and those around you in danger, summer droughts leave patches of grass or brush that are ripe for catching fire all around. Make sure that you follow safety procedures when making a bonfire to help prevent any mishaps or accidents from occurring!
Ensure nothing happens by clearing the area of any dry grass or plants and if possible keep a fire extinguisher or even a hose nearby. It's okay to have fun with friends, but its also your job to be vigilant and careful. Be knowledgeable, safe, and aware and have some fun this summer!
