During the Spring and Summer months its common to see friends and family getting together out in the nice warm weather to barbecue and enjoy the company of others. If you plan to cook outdoors on a grill it is important to be aware of the area that you're doing it in. Clearing any dead or dry leaves, grass, or shrubs from the immediate area of your cooking station is smart and proactive, as all of these are extremely potent fire sources pose a potential fire risk. Even the smallest of embers could set them ablaze!
To best prepare for any event you have planned you should take a quick survey of where you want to throw the party or cookout and find any and all spots that could pose a problem. If it is your property you can do a few things to deal with it, water them and spruce things up if you have a while before the event or simply get rid of the fire hazards. If the location that you want to use isn't your property then it is best that you find a more suitable area to ensure that you and the surrounding area is safe!
