2021 Summer Wildfire Prevention

Wildfires are the type of natural disaster that can start and get completely out of control all within a few minutes. They also normally don't require all that much to get started to begin with, which is why taking a few simple preventative measures can be extremely beneficial to your home!
First, make a habit of occasionally walking through your yard and looking out for dead/dying trees, leaves, or grass. All of these are the perfect fire starts or accelerants for already blazing fires. Take note of any that you find and move on to the next step!
Secondly, take all of the dead/dry material that you have found in your yard and dig it up, pick it up, or clean it up. Get it out of there! You can cut down the dead grass or even try watering it often to liven it up. Picking up and getting rid of the dead trees or branches is the best way of eliminating that fire hazard. Raking up and bagging any dead leaves will help with that issue.
After all that work the fire hazards that could pose an immediate threat to your home should be dealt with, but that isn't all there is. It is important that you continue to be vigilant, especially during activities like grilling, bonfires, camping, or even lighting fireworks. All of these activities can be fun for you, along with friends and family, but they can also be the catalyst of a wildfire!
