Is your home ready for a disaster when you least expect it?

Safety is often the priority for new home/apartment buyers. Homeowners around the country have plans and actions that they have created and practiced so that they are ready for certain unexpected scenarios, like a house fire during the night.
Ensuring that your property is properly set up with detectors and alarms can go a long way in giving you and your family the time you may need to escape from an unexpected disaster. Check the batteries and functionality of all safety devices on your property every couple of months so that you know they are working correctly.
If you're moving into a new home or apartment then checking the safety devices in the property should be added to your to-do list ASAP! It's impossible to know how often the previous occupants inspected the devices throughout their stay. You never know how they were left and when you may need them!
Make safety and precautionary checks a habit that sticks with you for life!
