2022 Wildfire Prevention
6/21/2022 (Permalink)
Wildfires are extremely dangerous and destructive natural disasters that can be incredibly difficult to contain. They're also among the most common to occur around the world, which is why a few preventative measures can go a long way!
If your yard is located near or even within densely wooded areas, you must keep a keen eye on things. Take note of dead/dying trees, dry grass and leaves, and other types of natural kindling on your property. It doesn't take much to set these ablaze!
After locating any potentially hazardous areas/materials around your property, it's time to put on some gloves and get to work. Do your best to remove as many of the fire hazards as possible. Each one removed significantly reduces the potential for disaster. Keep grass watered, tear down dead or dying trees and bushes, and rake up leaves scattered around!
Your work isn't done once the immediate fire hazards have been dealt with. Keep your eyes open while going about your everyday life, but especially when fire is involved. Outdoor cookouts or barbecues, bonfires, camping, and even spectacular fireworks displays can all be fantastic ways to spend time and have fun but could also be the catalyst for disaster! Remember to stay safe, be vigilant, and have fun!
